I am publishing this post on a wonderfully historic day for Great Britain. Andy Murray has won the Wimbledon men’s final, the first time since 77 years that Britain has achieved the men’s title…..and in three straight sets! Congratulations and very well done!
I know that quite a few of you have been emailing me to ask where have I been over the last two/three weeks. The answer is that, along with general daily living, usual medical appointments, plus watching the Wimbledon tennis, I have been changing ALL my Sasha girls for the SECOND time this Summer. Then unfortunately the sun decided to arrive just when they were all ready to be photographed and it has just been too bright to take any photos SO……
…..I got up at 5.30am this morning and armed with two Ikea blue carrier bags of as many dolls that would fit into each (but so that I could still manage to carry them) I arrived at my photoshoot destination at 6.30am and set to work.
Below are some of the resulting photos of the Sashas in their SECOND Summer clothing change.
My 1969 Gotz No-navel in a Pinestreetstudio shorts and top outfit with commercially made socks and JJ sandals.
My 1966 Frido Developmental girl who is rare coming in her box and labelled Brunette Brown Cord to be sold at a London Doll Fair. She is wearing a most attractive Jill Mackley of ‘Frocks and Sock’s’ smocked three Bears material dress with JJ sandals.
Another quite rare 1966/7 frido NP girl with eyes painted by Kristina, the Manchester art student, during one Summer holiday break. She has on a brightly coloured Liberty Print sleeveless dress by Sashawardrobe and JJ sandals.
A second Frido Developmental Dungaree doll in another sleeveless simple shift styled Liberty Print dress by Sashawardrobe and JJ sandals.
A Frido 1969 Dungaree girl wigged in a Global Cossette style strawberry-blonde wig and wearing a very pretty and dainty vintage-sasha outfit and commercially made shoes and socks.
Although I took 166 photos (and didn’t get back home until 9.30 am) of many more of the Sashas and trying to get the light right and dodge the shadows it is now my evening meal time and so unbearable hot here that I think that I’ll call it a day and publish these few now and post more on another occasion.
Congratulations again Andy Murray!
