What I do for my Blogposts

I am publishing this post on a wonderfully historic day for Great Britain. Andy Murray has won the Wimbledon men’s final, the first time since 77 years that Britain has achieved the men’s title…..and in three straight sets!  Congratulations and very well done!

I know that quite a few of you have been emailing me to ask where have I been over the last two/three weeks. The answer is that, along with general daily living, usual medical appointments, plus watching the Wimbledon tennis, I have been changing ALL my Sasha girls for the SECOND time this Summer. Then unfortunately the sun decided to arrive just when they were all ready to be photographed and it has just been too bright to take any photos SO……

…..I got up at 5.30am this morning and armed with two Ikea blue carrier bags of as many dolls that would fit into each (but so that I could still manage to carry them) I arrived at my photoshoot destination at 6.30am  and set to work.

Below are some of the resulting photos of the Sashas in their SECOND Summer clothing change.

Although I took 166 photos (and didn’t get back home until 9.30 am) of many more of the Sashas and trying to get the light right and dodge the shadows it is now my evening meal time and so unbearable hot here that I think that I’ll call it a day and publish these few now and post more on another occasion.

Congratulations again Andy Murray!

  1. Lovely set of Photo’s Kendal of a beautiful set of girls. My favourite girl is Missy in the cossette wig! If anyone ever puts on of them on ebay for sale it would raise a fortune, must dash as i may bid on a Sasha any minute 🙂

    • Yes, that outfit is really very pretty. I couldn’t see it very well on Sarah’s blogspot as the pattern was really pale so was even more thrilled when it arrived. I have another one similar in red.
Wide range of my dolls that you like the best today.

  2. I am thrilled by Andy Murray’s victory and decided to name my redhaired, brown-eyed Gregor ‘shorts’ Andy Murray to remember this auspicious day.
I’ll be thinking of you during the Festival Kendal. I wish you and your Sasha Brood could attend.

    • Oh how absolutely fabulous that you are naming your Gregor Shorts after Andy’s truly magnificent Wimbledon win today.
I’d have loved to have met you and everyone at the Festival but my Arthritic bones can’t cope with any form of air conditioning so that rules out flights to anywhere.
Have a wonderful time and please give my love to anyone who knows me.

  3. Wow that is indeed dedication Kendal! Mind you it is the ONLY time of the day to do it when it is hot like this.

They all look fabulous and I just adore your Brunette NP – she is stunning.

    • That’s what I thought with such an early start to the day! Hopefully I have enough photos to last me a couple more posts until I can get over there again and take some more dolls to photograph but at least they are now all changed, ready and waiting.

  4. I did not win but was a very half hearted attempt really!! 🙂 Amazing that Andy’s finally won just hope we don’t have to wait another 77 years for the next time!!
I bet you are worn out what with all that photo taking early today and then helping Andy with every shot this afternoon!! You’ll sleep like a baby tonight kendal!
    Dee xx

    • Oh I’m definitely worn out, probably so much so that after a couple of hours of deep sleep I’ll be up half the night!
My ‘heart was in my mouth’ as the saying goes with every stroke that Andy took.

So sorry that you didn’t win whatever it was you were wanting. Would have been nice to have had something to remember this historic day by.

  5. Beautiful photos of your special girls, Kendal. I love the Developmental Brunette and her sweet little teddy print dress. Do your girls know what sacrifices you make for their stardom?
Even DH and I got excited by Andy Murray’s win. I’m not a fan of tennis on TV usually – brings back memories of being forced to sit with 600 other girls in a hot school hall all through the Wimbledon tournament, squinting at a small black and white set meant for home use. We’d rather have been playing tennis or dealing with maths or even Latin lessons. An entire staff of a medium-sized high school pulling that stunt now would face dismissal! This was a really special match though, and I enjoyed it immensely. I always feel a teeny bit sorry for the opponent in the finals, no matter how much I might have been cheering on the winner – so near but so far.
My gorgeous new boy has been named Harri Anthony – you never know St. Anthony might be gratified by being remembered and help Rhodri home! Thank you again, and all my other Sasha Samaritans!

    • I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this match (as I did with both the men’s semi-finals) and do hope that MY stress involved with every stroke that he took might have helped me get rid of a bit of the weight that has been piling on with all the sitting around ….but very doubtful the way the toffee popcorn, fizzy drinks and strawberries and cream was being devoured throughout the fortnight to ease the tension.

Sorry to hear of your school’s miss-use of the Wimbledon fortnight AND on such a tiny black and white screen!!!!

Love the name of your new lad and like you I do hope that St. Anthony gets the message and brings Rhodri home safe and sound..

  6. Beautiful girls, beautifully dressed always a pleasure to see them…thank you so much for going to all that trouble for us to enjoy!
Was I the only person not to watch the tennis…ooops! Still I had a fab day in Hove and wandering around Brighton!

    • Oh I’m sure that there were many others who didn’t watch the tennis especially with it being such a wonderfully hot and sunny day BUT I’ve always been a keen watcher of Wimbledon.

Felt a bit guilty at only showing five of the fifteen dolls that I took with me but it was so hot where the laptop was set up when I was downloading them onto the blog..

  7. Thank you Kendal for your loving efforts to share these beautiful Sasha images with us. I am very partial to developmental Sashas an have thoroughly enjoyed seeing your beauties today. The outdoor photos are lovely!! Congrats on Andy’s win at Wimbledon!!!

    • These Developmental dolls are quite different to the later NPs and have slightly larger heads and bodies but they have lovely eye-painting as they were experimenting with this at that time before deciding on which were the best style to go forward with.

I join you in again congratulating Andy Murray on his Wimbledon win today.

    • What a lovely and just perfect for this weather doll post your younger daughter has done. Many thanks for alerting me especially on this historic Wimbledon day.
My kids do have a tennis racket but I was just too hot and tired by then to look for it under the spare bed….although now thinking that I SHOULD have done so! I seem to be getting somewhat lazy and always short on time these days (plus can no longer bend down or sit on the grouind!) to get out and use my some of my super Sasha accessories. Perhaps your daughter would like to visit here and set up some scenes for me whilst I just sit behind the camera and snap!

I’m hoping that when Dee next comes she might do me a little story with my Brood like she does with hers BUT there again time never seems to allow. I supose that if it were pre-planned I could get everything ready and the dolls dressed for the set-up scenes.
Wonder if we ignored any eating or sitting around chatting time????

  8. I am late as usual, lol, sorry Mrs Hack’s!
Beautiful pictures as always! Love your early girls, especially the brunette, she looks stunning in Jill’s smocked dress and JJ sandals.
Can see where Dee is coming from with regards to the Cossette wig on your 69 dungaree’s girl! I am not a big fan of wigged Sasha’s but there is something very special about these girls who wear these wigs! xxxxxx
Ps I didn’t watch the tennis either Ronny, but I am glad Andy won!

    • No need to apologise for any lateness. Just always pleased to hear from you ‘whenever!’
I too like the Developmental NP in that dress and setting and also love the Global Cossette wigs although my three are becoming rather whispy and untidy now through handling.

Sorry to hear that you didn’t watch the tennis as it was truly wonderful and especially with Britain winning!

  9. I haven’t even begun to look at your girls yet, Kendal. First I wanted to say: thank you, thank you for doing all this work for us! It can’t have been easy changing all the clothes and shoes, not to mention beginning filming at 6:30am!! (Can I still say “filming”??) I’m so grateful for my share!

Now, off I go to lose myself in your beautiful Sashas!

    Mary

    • It’s really all my pleasure Mary as I just love all the sharing with these fantastic dolls that goes on between us Sasha collectors.

I am feeling a little guilty as I did take fifteen of the girls with me, expecting to post ten of them when I got back but the weather and Wimbledon Tennis obviously had other ideas and so only five actually got shown today.

There was only just enough Summer outfits to go round all the girls a second time before their final change which will involve my Dollydoodle leisure outfits …though they won’t stretch as far as every girl to wear one!

Will post the other ten already taken asap and then watch the weather in readiness to escort the other twenty-five who are ready, willing and waiting to be photographed..(There are two more but they are still under wraps and won’t be making their debuts until August 8th and December 25th.)

  10. You have remarkable dedication when it comes to anything Sasha! Thank you for your tremendous efforts and years of devotion to our *favorite* doll.
5 lovely, truly beautiful, girls… dressed, as always, to the nth degree. I love them all, but I will say that your brunette no-navel looks very comfortable wearing her tomboy-esque *pinestreetstudio’s* outfit. I like the different patterns and textures Cindy used in this unique and *one of a kind* ensemble. All the warm colors compliment your pretty little nature girl… who appears (in photo #3) to be looking for a lizard.
I always enjoy your photos that are taken in the lushness of nature.
    Hugs, -Anne
p.s. Congrats to your “Andy”… a great athlete… and hero.

    • Many thanks Anne for these very kind words!

I agree with you I too am very partial to that Pinestreetstudio outfit. I had taken some photos of the other two that I have but didn’t have the time to post then this time.

There isn’t, I think, any comparison with the photos taken outside to those taken indoors but as we know only too well our weather here doesn’t always allow for this. so I try ‘to make hay while the sun shines’ although NOT too brightly please!

Oh! I hope that she wasn’t noticing a Lizard as I’m not at all keen on them!

We’re still on a high from yesterday’s Wimbledon win! Can hardly believe it after ALL these years (77) of Britain never winning again.

  11. Better late than never here! LOVE the brunette developmental niece so much that if she ever plays up you know who to send her to to be thoroughly ruined! She looks the sort of little girl who would be so easy to spoil rotten. Then to see Gangies garden with the gorgeous girls in was lovely to see and remember. Love the outfits and think Kristinas eye painting is really fab. Night night for now.
    Love Aunty Sarah xx

    • So pleased that you have found some time off from your house move to drop by. Steve was saying that he was missing reading your comments but I told him that you comment towards the end after he has been on

Unfortunately the garden is now looking rather neglected especially with no annual flowers due to the task of watering but we are managing to keep the lawns cut and trimmed.

There are so many fabulous outfits around these days that you are spoilt for choice. Many of these seen here I have had for quite some years and one or two of the seamstresses are no longer designing and making Sasha clothing. Such a pity.

I too like Kristina’s eye painting and have been lucky enough to get another of hers which is still under wraps awaiting December 25th.

  12. Oh my goodness I nearly missed this blogpost!!! Well, what can I say? Another bunch of beautifully styled gorgeous girls Kendal. I love them all and their outfits too. I really do love the outfit being worn in the first photos, made by Pinestreetstudio. Such a great combination of fabrics and textures. Some people do have some very good ideas for Sasha clothing!
And as ever, I really love those JJ sandals….I must get in touch with JJ and see if I can order some! They are just so perfect looking.
    Big hugs Sharon xxx
